Pt Defiance Park

Mike and I took a drive to Pt Defiance Park the other night. Although Mike works 2 blocks away from here, we kind of forgot about it! It really is a beautiful park; complete with a five mile drive, various lookout points, waterfront access, rose & flower gardens, as well as a wonderful zoo and aquarium. We used to bring the kids here quite a bit but we rarely visit now that they're grown. The roses were in full bloom and the garden was incredibly fragrant. I took lots of pictures but I'll only bore you with a few of my favorites.

Then we walked along the waterfront. We wanted to stop and get dinner and drinks, but the restaurants were all full. Someday we'll learn to plan ahead. Nahhhh, what am I thinking, that will never happen!!!

We also drove around through the park and we encountered a fox and a family of raccoons. I tried to get some pictures but they were merely blurrs of a sorry attempt.

By the way, if you look closely at the water/mt rainier photo you can see a tall building in the background...that's St Joseph Hospital, where my babies were born!
